And at the end of the day, this is still a map that is meant to be played, so everything has been constructed with the intention of still providing the core Humankind experience. I had to take a good degree of artistic liberty with the many resources that are neither mentioned nor have a believable analogue in the world (e.g., Uranium), as well as with creating the terrain for less-documented areas such as Khand and Rhun. Additionally, some resources and points of interest have been placed to represent many locations in the world, such as sage (pipe-weed) at the location of Longbottom, or in areas where they would have been harvested, such as coal (charcoal) at the edge of Fangorn forest next to Isengard. Each tile represents roughly 25 miles (~40 KM) of travel, and is as accurate to published works as can be while still being playable. The Battle for Middle-Earth covers an area spanning from Tol-Fuin in the West to the Sea of Rhun in the East, and from the Northern Wastes in the North to Near Harad in the South. This map differentiates itself from those already published with detailed, realistic, and scale-accurate terrain. Hello everyone, I figured I might as well throw my own hat into the LOTR ring for this competition as well.
